Today I did something I never thought I would do. My fireteam and I were fighting a Taken Wizard. I took a risk and decoyed our opponent so my teammates could get the breathing room they need to use their supers. 3 weeks ago I would never had tried it. It is a testament to how far we have come as a team in these few short weeks. We make a great team. We each bring our own strengths and elements to the fight, and have learned to fully trust in each other.
Normally I like to be on my own and only be responsible for my light. My Ghost and I have killed many enemies on our own. I prefer the quiet moments and the freedom of being a lone wolf. And yet, there are times that I have wished for a team to be able to fall back on. The issue was finding other Guardians that wanted a crazy, reckless, and opinionated hunter along. The feeling I felt standing with my fireteam today reminds me of Cayde’s reaction to Zavala’s call-to-arms during the Red War: “Wait – Zavala said he needs me?” ~ Zara Adi
